Sorrento Sweets: Reviews & Ratings
Was looking for a place that is cozy & has a great vibe to celebrate my birthday in a simple but memorable way. The owner was so welcoming & gave me a warm wishes. Cake was great , same for the espresso coffee. I highly recommend this family owned bakery / coffee shop.
Small space, but LOTS of pastry, cookie, and sandwich options. Largest selection I've ever seen of flavor syrups for coffees. Lots of unique lattes too. Great staff. Excellent central location. We tried their peanut butter cookie, chocolate chip butter cookie, and drip coffee. Some of the best prices we've seen in a local coffee shop in downtown St Pete probably since pre-COVID. Great deal - we will be back for sure!
Cute coffee shop on Central Ave. Their cheesecakes and cake cups are very good. They have a variety of hot or iced coffee options with seasonal specials. Both the breakfast and lunch sandwiches are very good. The canoli is filled to order and comes in a mini or regular size.
If you’re ever in downtown Saint Pete, make sure to check out the charming Sorrento Sweets! This cozy little coffee and pastry shop is a true gem. The spinach and feta croissant was perfectly flaky with a flavorful filling that hit all the right notes. We also got to try a sample of their vegan quiche, which was so delicious that I genuinely wouldn’t have guessed it was vegan if I hadn’t been told! The balance of flavors and texture was spot on. The staff here are incredible—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the experience even better. Whether you’re craving a pastry or just need a good coffee, this is a spot I’d wholeheartedly recommend. It’s a must-visit for locals and tourists alike!
I stumbled upon this cute little coffee shop w/ pastries hidden on Central &7th. I ordered a small caramel macchiato and a veggie croissant sammie. I should have ordered a large, as it is quite possibly the best macchiato I have tasted. The Sammie was just as lovely -lightly toasted croissant with egg, tomato, melted Gouda, freshly sliced avocado, drizzled with balsamic. Light and filling. This hidden gem was a great find.
If heaven has a bakery, it probably smells like Sorrento Sweets and I’m fairly certain their angels are just back there hand-rolling cannoli shells and pulling espresso shots. I came in thinking I’d be “responsible” and only ordered a mini cannoli. That was my first mistake. Watching them fill it fresh, right in front of me, was like watching a Michelangelo painting come to life, but with ricotta cream instead of marble. I should’ve gone full Mega Cannoli, because now the mini feels like the trailer when I needed the whole movie. Their coffee? Made fresh right in front of you too, none of that sad carafe stuff that’s been crying on a hot plate for six hours. I got mine with a shot of toasted marshmallow syrup (yes, that’s a real thing on their flavor board, not something I hallucinated from sugar overload). My taste buds threw a parade and handed out biscotti to the crowd. And the menu? Absolute chaos in the best way possible. Croissant sammies stuffed with things like gouda, tomato, and balsamic glaze, because apparently sandwiches can have a PhD now. The Turkey Gouda ciabatta looked so stacked it could probably pay rent downtown. Don’t even get me started on the Veggie Sorrento croissant, it’s basically a farmer’s market doing yoga on bread. Moral of the story: I’ll be back, and next time I’m not settling for a mini. I’m going full Mega Cannoli mode, no regrets.
Small and cozy, great for getting work done. Coffee was good and had lots of flavor options for their latte. Sammies were normal and could use some fresh greens or something so it doesn't feel like you paid for something you made in your kitchen overall a nice spot to hang out and pass some time.
Excellent experience all around! Our barista was engaging, efficient, and clearly takes pride in her craft — working quickly without sacrificing quality. She answered our questions and shared helpful details without ever being pushy. Our croissant sandwiches were perfectly flaky with crisp bacon, and my hot drip coffee (served in a mug!) was rich, hot, and not at all bitter. The seating is cozy and comfortable, and the blankets are such a thoughtful touch since the garage door stays open during business hours. This is exactly the coffee shop I’ve been looking for!
